WishxDo

Do you ever just plan and plan and plan, but never do?

I do it all the time, say I'm planning on doing something, and never actually come to doing it. Write out the perfect formula, but never put it into action. I'm sick of talking about it and then being disappointed with myself, sick of being tired and crashing watching netflix (hello, I swear netflix has it in for me) and wishing I had done the things I love. Sick of wishing and hoping and complaining I have no time.

So today I plan to do. No 'plan' just doing the things that bring life to my soul. The goal is to dedicate at least half a day a week to creating, to reading, to writing, to playing.

Because in the end, does it really matter is my brain sees another episode of Arrested Development, or is it more important that I filled my soul and bought into existence something beautiful?

Marble Love.

Lets be real, who doesn't love some marble look details. After numerous tries and attempts to make something that resembles this, I finally came up with a technique that worked.
I think they are little beauties, on trend and beautifully bright

Enjoy

The Ocean

The Cure for anything is salt water: sweat, tears, the sea.

There are 2 things I will never be able to fully capture. The sky and the sea. It will be a life long adventure of trying to get the exact colours and textures. So here's some pretty pictures for now (that so don't do it justice).

Colour LOVE

Although I choose the colour grey in almost all instances, when it comes to painting, grey just doesn't cut it.
More coming soon.

(Ps. this just goes to show the power of selective photo taking, trust me under all this didn't look so nice..)

BE

I remember ending school and thinking about what the next step was, what was I to do, what job was I to do, what should I be studying, what does God want me to do with my life? So many questions and all I thought were totally relevant. I had 'questionable' pathway planners telling me uni was the only way to go. I was so confused and was so stressed out about it *smile*. So I of course toddled off to uni to do a course which yes I did love but I knew all along that it wasn't my dream or what I would end up doing with my life.

What I am trying to get at is that it was all about the do,  what I was to do with my life. And that is a totally fine thing to be asking, but what about the be

I watched this movie the other day, my mum suggested it, informing me that is was a christian movie, now your reaction is probably similar to mine "eek, tacky christian movie" but I went ahead and watched it and it was actually very well made, not too cheesy and had a good point.  My favourite part of it was when the lead guy is talking to his old teacher and his teacher asks him how he's going, if he is still writing how life's going etc and the guys like well I'm just working at this cafe, God obviously doesn't have anything important for me to do, and his teacher says this to him "the most important question to ask yourself is, who is God asking me to be?" Interesting thought huh!

Now this wasn't a new revelation to me, this whole year since quitting uni and trying to figure out what I am meant to do with my life, I have felt the God whisper saying it doesn't actually matter what you do with your life, things to do will come and go, they are all temporary assignments intended to grow you and use the person God is creating you to be.

They are seasonal things, simply assignments. The thing that is everlasting and the thing that I can constantly work on is becoming and being the person God has called me to be, so that when the time comes that God has an assignment for me, I am able to walk in it with ease, my character, my personality, my opinions and my heart are usable and are ready for the task ahead.

So I am still asking the question of what am I meant to do with my life, but I've realised that can't be number one questions its about asking who does God want me to be in the season, because the do will come and go but the be is forever and that is what will matter in the end.

Perception is Reality

The past few months I have really been looking into this idea of perceptions. Everyone has a way that we perceive things and situations in life. That perception or way of looking at things, comes from a combination of how we are raised, our value and belief systems, situations that have happened in life, hurts and heartaches, joys. All these things start to develop a way of thinking and develop how we see the world.

The beauty is that everyone is different and everyone has a different story that makes up who they are and how they see the world, it is also makes things interesting because how do we then know what is truth and what is actually right or wrong. How we perceive life and all its happenings becomes our reality, and what is totally true and right and real for me maybe completely untrue and a non reality for another person, and its not to say that one is right or wrong, it is simply and complexly my reality.

What comes to mind when you think about God is the most important thing about you.                                                                                                               - A. W Tozer

But that's where God comes in, because he is truth and knows all things, and his word is truth, not just true for me but not for someone else. It is dead set, can't argue with it truth. How we see God and what we think of him and who is will play a massive part in how we think and perceive the world around us. So we need to start seeking the truth of God and getting a bit of revelation on who he is. We need to find that truth, to seek it out and have our minds renewed by the truth of who God is therefore renewing our perception, ultimately having a God perception and living in the fullness of his reality.
The God reality is so much greater than mine and I can grasp hold of it and take it as my reality if I am willing to spend the time to renew and refresh and seek out that which is whole hearted truth.

Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the will of God- what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2
